In optional science 1st ESO we were styding The states of matter and Maurisha taught the students how to cook a typical family breakfast in the United States. They are called pancakes and they eat them especially on the weekend. Here is the recipe so you can try at home this Easter holiday!

What you will need:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sal
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
Make a well in the center.
Pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth. If the batter is too thick, add more milk.
Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat
Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup or one ladle for each pancake. Brown on both sides.
Traditionally, it is served with maple syrup. However, you can be creative with toppings. Serve hot with fruits, honey, whipped cream, Nutella, jam/marmalade or other sweet things.
